Few of Nature's weather combinations
are as glorious as cool crisp air and sunshine.

The blue sky is host to the earth's lantern
which burns gradually until nightfall
while the trees offer swaying praise.

A walk in the breeze brings a rosy flush
to the cheeks and the tips of the nose and earlobes;
a tickle to the scalp with winter's breathe.

Just before a chill has the chance to move in
the air becomes still and calm
letting the rays of the sun spread toasty warmth.

Birds are in flight and children are at play
people ride bicycles and walk their dogs
as there is no better celebration of the day's perfection.

And as the lantern starts to lower in the sky
and shadows indicate its fading to twilight
the street settles down and smell of dinner is in the air.

We enjoy the light of the lantern through the window
watching the birds and the swaying trees
as we say goodbye to this glorious day.
