A Peaceful Day at the Beach

A lazy, hazy afternoon on Lover's Key Beach, I didn't even make it down to the water until about 3:00 pm. It was the first time I roamed around down the beach by myself, with no schedule and no time commitments for the remainder of the day. I got in and out of my car several times, stopping to look at whatever I wanted, whenever I felt like it. It was a lovely afternoon. I only wish I would have stopped at the Fish House for a bite, but I got distracted as I passed it and didn't feel like turning back.

Bridge
Up on the bridge, back to the highway
drop a line, and the fish come my way.

Don't they know?
Passersby rush along in their cars, a vacation right outside their windows
Gentle tide washing ashore, bathing shell pieces and toes.
Blustery breezes cleanse skin, and hair, and soul.
Do they have any idea what they're missing?

Tortoise
Don't mind me
Just having a snack
Enjoy the beach
I'll be here when you get back

Grass
Seagulls soar above
Florida's natural beach
windblown wispy grass
