Is this where the stairway to heaven leads
up to this deep blue chasm in the sky
a gateway through the clouds and into beyond
Gray below, the sun spreads light from above
and I imagine angels singing, voices like
Alison Krauss or maybe Emmylou Harris
It's strange really, a place you know you want to go
but you feel absolutely no rush to get there
instead you dream of it and hope to arrive when it's time
I'm not sure it really exists, this place called Heaven
but if the things they say are true I won't need a stairway
just a kind heart, a life fulfilled, and a pair of wings
